A conversation had over lunch with one of my co-workers:

E: One of my residents got me a $10 gift card to a spa for my birthday — I have to give it back, right?  I mean, to keep it feels a bit unethical.  Have you dealt with this sorta thing since you’ve been working here?

Me: Welllll, if you count my last birthday when one of my residents got me some clothes from the mission for me, a shirt that had what looked like blood stains on it and a mini skirt, I did struggled with what to do with them; whether to give them back to the same mission or re-gift them to another mission so that she didn’t somehow end up having them donated back to her again and finding out — then yes, yes I have.  If you don’t count that, then no.
